Manushi Chhillar's Journey of Success
Manushi Chhillar, the sixth Indian woman to win the title of Miss World in 2017, brought the title back to India 17 years after Priyanka Chopra was the last Indian woman to win the title. In April, she competed and won the FBB Femina Miss Haryana pageant, which served as a warmup for her Miss World run.
During the course of a few months, Manushi's life went from being a medical student to being crowned FBB Colors Femina Miss World 2017. Manushi Chhillar enrolled in the Bhagat Phool Women's Medical College in Haryana in 2015 to begin her MBBS studies, but she took a year off when she learned about the Chandigarh auditions.
Her life took an entirely new turn when she made it through the auditions. During the months leading up to the pageant, Manushi would rise earlier than anyone else in her dorm to work out and study. According to Manushi, the other students at college thought she was "crazy" and often found it amusing.
She considered returning to college to finish her MBBS degree at one point during her training because she was the only one in her family not choosing a career in medicine and instead chose a career in the entertainment industry. In spite of this, her parents encouraged her to pursue her dreams.
Maushi Chhillar, a contestant in the Miss World pageant, recalls her college days as a whirlwind of studying, working out, and other pageant preparations. "Winning a beauty pageant was something I'd always hoped to achieve," she said. My studies were always my top priority as a student, but I also had a lifelong ambition to compete in a beauty pageant," she continued.
Manushi went to Delhi's St Thomas' Girl's Senior Secondary School for her final two years of high school. While in Delhi, she says her schooling was crucial for boosting her self-esteem. When Manushi was seven years old, she relocated from Bengaluru to Delhi.
She thinks that people who grow up in Delhi are more confident, brave, and bold than those who do not. They're not afraid to express themselves.
