Being young is perhaps the best time of one’s life. It is when they are at the prime of their health. But, when lower back pain hits without any reason, it can leave one feeling like an old person. Back pain in young people is becoming more and more common. It is often embarrassing to accept that someone as young as 20 could be suffering from lower back pain. But, constant pain in the back could severely affect the quality of life and hinder daily activities like going to work or even showering.
Common Reasons For Back Pain
Most of the time, people are not able to point the pain towards a particular cause. here are some reasons of back pain:
1. Muscle Strain
This is perhaps one of the most common reasons that young adults get back pain. It is also called a ligament strain. This can happen very easily so there is nothing to worry about. Lifting heavy objects, exercising with incorrect posture, or even twisting into an awkward position could cause muscle strain. When you strain yourself, the muscles in your back suddenly stretch or even suffer microscopic tears, which cause backache. Some of the symptoms are stiffness/soreness when touched, difficulty in walking or even standing up, etc. Mostly, it heals by itself. But, you should take proper rest and apply hot/cold bags to soothe the pain. Over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medicines also help.
2. Slouch Position
Pain in the back is very common in youngsters these days. In America, it is the third-most-common reason for doctor visits. But, not all those who suffer from backache go to a doctor. This is where blogs like these help in making an informed decision. Whether we are scrolling on our phone or working at the desk, we unintentionally go into a slouch position as it feels comfortable. The further you lean your head, the more strain your back and neck have to bear. Over time, this can cause soreness in the back and neck pain. To avoid this from happening, all you have to do is be aware of how you are sitting. If you can’t help it, then there are bands you can wear on your shoulders. They help you sit in the correct position and get rid of pain.

3. Spinal Disease Processes
This is another one of the factors that may be causing you pain. However, it is a bit more serious. Although this kind of pain starts like any other muscle-strained backache, it develops into something more serious over time. This is an inflammatory disease of the spine, which can lead to more pronounced problems.
4. SAC
It can really limit your movements as the pain grows. This happens because the vertebrae get infused as one. If the pain has been around for more than 10-14 days then it is best to get it checked out by a professional. Usually, pain can be traced back to lifting something or stretching weirdly. In such cases, using a hot water bag to soothe the inflammation and resting gets rid of the pain in a couple of days. But, if the pain persists, it is best to go to a doctor and get it checked out. When we are young, we tend to brush off any kind of a pain but, delaying treatment could worsen the condition if it is anything more than a sprain.
